Hi! My Name is Jack Skellie Rubio.

I was named after Jack Skellington from (Nightmare before Christmas)!

My mom and Dad favorite Halloween Movie and my favorite Artist Tim Burton. I was born in San Antonio Texas Where my Dad is from. As a toddler I drew pumpkins over and over, I love pumpkins. We moved to Colorado when I was 3 I doodled over everything paper, chalk board, sidewalk, canvas etc. At 4 years old We moved  to Corpus Christi Texas to be closer to my mom’s family. I started using my IPad often. Creating art, cool videos, stop motion and unboxing videos. I am 10 now. In my 5 years in Corpus, I began creating clay art, and made stop motion videos with them. I love to be creative! I got into puppets/Marinettes like Jim Henson. I would make videos sing songs and make my mom and dad laugh so much with my puppet skills. I even made puppets from socks and house hold items. My art has evolved since then using all types of media forms, oil paint, water colors , pastel, ink, clay, even origami. My favorite is ink sketching and watercolor. I can draw anything now! Last Year in 4th grade (age 9) I won my 1st art contest at the Corpus Christ Art Museum! There were over 800 contestants between grade 3-5! Currently I spend time going to local places like Cole Park and Starbucks and draw caricatures of local people, I love to see there faces when I’m done, it makes me so happy to see them smile. I’m working on new art everyday! My mom and dad help me make stickers, tshirts, post cards, and more with my art! I hope to one day I have my own art business with all my fun creations! I love all things art!

  • Answer: Scene style it’s full of color! It reminds me of the 80s and 90s!it’s a super creative style. Also, Grunge, it’s a cool style! I love all the earthy tones. It’s  on so many different things, clothing, shoes, books, accessories, paintings and more.

  • Answer: started off sketching pressing hard making dark sketches, it made it hard to erase the sketch or make changes to it. I learned to sketch lightly, so that I can make more details change my drawing as much as I want. I want to explore using geometry in my art cutting out shapes and creating art. Like Picasso.

  • Answer: In the near future I want to make an impression and become know in the art community. I can’t wait to participate in more art competitions. It would be so cool to have a booth at art walk  so I can share my art with everyone. Or at Comicon! That would be amazing
